PASHLEY
MANOR GARDENS – one of the finest gardens in England
I
feel in love with Pashley Manor Gardens – the moment I stepped onto
the gardens' grass.
It
is so 'beautiful', 'awesome' and 'colorful' – with the presence of
blooming tulips and flowers.
I
actually sign up with Truemans Travel agent – which offered Tulip
Flower Show in Pashley Manor Gardens, located at East Sussex.
BLOOMY FLOWERS AT PASHLEY MANOR GARDENS |
Pashley
Manor Gardens is a winner of the HHA/Christie's Garden of the Year
Award themed “One of the finest gardens in England”.
The
de Passele family build a moated Manor in 1262 and held the estate
until 1453, when it was sold to the forebears of Anne Boleyn. It is
possible that Anne, second wife of Henry VIII, stayed here during her
childhood. In 1543 the estate was sold to Sir Thomas May, who build
the Tudor House. The fine Georgian facade was added in 1720. The
house is a family home and is not open to public.
THE MANOR HOUSE |
The
Gardens first opened in 1992 and were brought to their present
splendor with the assistance of the eminent landscape architect, the
late Anthony du Gard Pasley. Here, there is a sumptuous blend of
romantic landscaping, imaginative planting and fine old trees,
fountains, springs and large ponds.
A
number of different gardens have been created within the 11 acres
allowing the visitor to travel from blazing color to cool creams,
greens and golds.

buffet service for light lunches, after noon tea, coffee, scones and

Admire
the sculpture and art available in the gardens – each year the work
of many eminent sculptors is displayed as well as work by local
artists. The sculpture ranges from abstract to engagingly figurative.
Many different styles and materials are employed to delight every
taste. Most of pieces are for sale.
