BLACKBURN

POPULATED BLACKBURN

I made a visit to see my cousin Tin's family, while I was on holiday in Preston, in 2010.
The town is located only about 40 minutes car ride from Preston – Blackburn.

I did not get to visit the town – as I am on a visiting trip to see relatives who are running a Chinese restaurant, here.

Blackburn is a town in Lancashire, England – lies to the north of the West Pennine Moors on the southern edge of the Ribble Valley – east of Preston and north of Manchester. A former mill town, textiles have been produced in Blackburn since the middle of the 13th century, where wool was woven in people's houses in the domestic system. Textile business declined in the mid 20th century and faced challenges to other post-industrial northern towns including deindustrialisation, economic deprivation and housing issues. In recent decades, the tow has experienced high immigration with people of ethnic backgrounds making up the population. Nowadays, Blackburn has had significant investment and redevelopment since 1958 through government funding and the European Regional Development Fund.
