IPOH: The Rotary Club of Greentown (RCG) had an Induction Ceremony which saw four new members joining the club, here.
They were – Aniljeet Singh (Audiologist), Dr Tanesh Kumar (General Practitioner), Dr Heamawathy (GP) and Sumaan Aulikh (Tertiary Student-Psychology).
Guest-of-honour was District Governor Teoh Kwan Swee.
Also present were Datuk Bindi Rajasegaran and Datuk Dr. Siva Ananthan.

Teoh said that RCG’s theme for the year is ‘Rotary Opens Opportunities’ whereby members who joined Rotary Club have endless opportunity connecting to 1.2 million Rotarian in 200 countries.
“There is opportunity for networking, self/leadership/volunteer development, reaching out and change someone’s life and build friendship.
Meanwhile, RCG president Rita Olikh said the upcoming project for the club is the ‘Fit Body Project’ where 100 people will be invited to follow a routine to lose weight for three months, as well as to promote healthy living and active brain function.
“Another one is the implementation of the Dementia Garden where we have received a grant of RM120,000 from Rotary Foundation for the project.
“We have recently completed in March a project called ‘Train the Trainer-Teacher Making Difference Workshop’ to equip 100 teachers with the necessary knowledge and skills on how to identify and manage student with learning difficulties in the classroom,” she said.
She added that Sumaan was one of the youngest members inducted for in District 3300 Malaysia, and she is passionate on dealing with mental health issues and to reduce stigma in mental health problems in the community.
The night ended with a group photography session for members and family members of the inducted members.
