MBI RAMADHAN WITH ORPHANS

 

IPOH: Some 70 orphans were feted to a sumptuous dinner organized by the Ipoh City Council (MBI) held at The Haven Resort, here.

The event was jointly organized by MBI, Econsave Jelapang and Perak Media Sports & Welfare Club.

The children were from Pertubuhan Baitul Aini Anak-Anak Yatim Ipoh Perak and Pertubuhan Pusat Jagaan Anak-Anak Yatim Al Harraz.

Datuk Bandar Datuk Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud was present to breakfast with the children.

Rumaizi said the event was part of the council Prihatin programme to provide love and care to the less fortunate in our community.

“The council has plans to present a cheque for RM3,000 to 18 mosques and surau to help them in organizing Breaking Fast activities in mosques,” he said.

The night saw the children received duit raya and a group photography session.

It followed with a surprise birthday cake for Rumaizi.

Earlier on, the children were treated to a shopping spree with a RM50 voucher each sponsored by Econsave Jelapang to buy clothing for the coming Hari Raya celebration.

Also present were Econsave Jelapang (Northern 2 District) general manager Chua Yong Chiang, Perak Media Sports & Welfare Club president Rosli Mansor and MBI public relations officer Mohd Syahrizal Azmi.
