RAMADHAN WITH E-WALLET

 

IPOH: The Ipoh City Council (MBI) in collaboration with Maybank launched the “Cashless Payment (e-wallet)” through the initiative of Ipoh Smart City 2030, held at Stadium Indera Mulia bazaar.

Datuk Bandar Datuk Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud said the pilot project themed “e-wallet with Maybank” is one quick win for the Smart Ipoh City project.

 


 

“The objective of using the e-wallet is to encourage digital transaction for each purchase or service at the market.

“Some of the information linking to e-wallet comprises of business area, stall, tourists areas, customers need not used cash when purchasing, reduce the risk of cheating and benefit of a rebate.

 


 

“Incentives provided to traders include on the spot dealing, eligibility to win RM500 for the highest sales achievement per week or to win RM1,500 for prizes for total highest sales and two free apron and face mask.

 


 

“The customers will also be entitled to incentive whereby 20% discount for the purchase of two items.

Also present was Maybank Perak Regional Director Datin Munirah Che Rose.

 


 

However, Rumaizi also said during the launchng of yesterday Ipohpedia that Ramadhan Market to carry on business as usual on Ramadhan Month, here.

"Despite we are still in the Recovery Movement Control (RMCO) period, we would allow the Ramadhan Bazaar to operate, making sure the registered 1,040 traders in 28 location adhere to the standard operating practice (SOP), here.

 


 

“However, we will strictly monitor the SOP, such as social distancing between stalls stands at 3-metre, operating hours from 3pm to 8pm, and the availability of hand gloves, sanitizer, face mask, QR Code and temperature taking at every entrance.

‘The traders are required to wear face mask, apron and hand gloves when serving the customers," he said.
