IPOH: Some 100 media members attended the Ipoh City Council (MBI) Press Nite held at Galasa, here.
The media members were from print media, portal (news website), TV/Radio station and bloggers.

The evening started off with a welcome speech by Datuk Bandar Datuk Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud, followed with a sumptuous dinner for the press.
Also present were – Panglima 2 Briged Brigedier Jeneral Mohd Azmurin Mat Khalib, Luncai Emas Publishing Sdn Bhd director Dato’ M. Nasir and Perak State Broadcasting director Norliza Salleh.
Rumaizi thanked the media members for close cooperation with the council in dissemination the council’s news to the public.

“The event also aims to foster relationship between the council staff and the media members.
“It is important for the council to share information be it MBI policy or corporate social responsibility programme to the public.

“In addition, MBI also organizes events such as Breakfast & Evening Tea with the Bureau Chief, Friendly Football Matches between MBI and the Media, and Media Trip to Malacca,” he said.

Meanwhile, Perak Media Social & Sports Club president Rosli Mansur presented a token of appreciation to Datuk Rumaizi Baharin.
Later, there was a presentation of Certificate of Appreciation to Panglima 2 Briged, PGA Briged Utara and Econsave Jelapang manager for involving in the MBI Prihatin project.

There was also a signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Luncai Emas Publishing Sdn Bhd and MBI concerning starting up an Arts City in Ipoh, focusing on music.
The night ended with singer Dato’ M. Nasir delivering a few songs on stage and a lucky draw session.
