IPOHPEDIA WEBSITE

 

IPOH: The Ipoh City Council had recently launched its Ipohpedia website held at Weil Hotel, here.

Guest-of-honour was State Tourism Committee chairman Datuk Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi.

 


 

Nolee said the council had in 2017 started a system of documentation through digital element on the heritage of Ipoh City, and to develop Ipoh as a Smart City involving collection of data on the increased in the number of tourists arrival domestic and international.

“The state government hopes the sources of information and references collected for the development of the Heritage City will benefit the next generation, as well as to create a data integrated in the Ipohpedia website.

 


 


“The objectives of the implementation of the Ipohpedia are – to post information on attraction, activities, services and documentation on the development of the heritage Ipoh City; acts as a platform for tourists to download information online; assists in promoting Ipoh City and providing information to students and researchers", she said.

Datuk Bandar Datuk Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud said that the council had selected 33 heritage buildings in Ipoh City posted in the website namely - Ipoh Railway Station, OCBC, Masjid Panglima Kinta, Town Hall, Chung Thye Phin and Hongkong & Shanghai Bank among others.

“We are planning to have an Ipohpedia One Stop Centre at Ipoh Old Post Office complete with electronic record management system and shared information regarding the heritage buildings and culture of Ipoh,” he said.
