PERAKMANart TRAIL EXHIBITION

 

IPOH: The PERAKMANart Trail exhibition will commence from April 13 until May 13, held at Casuarina Hotel in Meru, here.

The art exhibition will showcase 100 pieces of art drawn by 40 artists depicting the beautiful scenic areas found around the Perak Man vicinity.

The event was jointly organized by the Perak Artist Association (PPPK), Tourism Perak, Balai Seni Negara and Perak Board of Museum.

 

 

The trail had started off with pleinair activities on November 19 which took place via three expeditions held at Lenggong (Raban Lake, Raban Village, Durau Village, Batu Ring Village, Beng Village, Durian Lubuk Village and Pecah Batu Village), Royal Belum, Gerik (Orang Asli Village/Gadung River) and Kuala Kangsar (Sayong Village/Mandah Village).

Guest-of-honour was State Tourism Committee chairman Datuk Nolee Ashilin Mohamed Radzi performed a soft launched of the event.

Nolee said that the artists had assisted the state government in promoting tourism and Perak Man was chosen as one of the icon for virtual art, and a way to preserve Lenggong as Perak’s UNESCO heritage site.

“Lenggong Valley has been recognized as the second National Geopark in Perak and the fourth one in Malaysia.

 

 

“We hope to make this PERAKMANart Trail as an annual event which covers the Golden Triangle of Perak – Kuala Kangsar, Lenggong and Royal Belum,” she said.

Meanwhile, Perak Artist Association chairman Datuk Ahmad Lothfi Ibrahim said there is a possibility of organizing a National Mural Contest where national artists will be given 8 locations to produce their mural art, by this year.

Later on, the event also saw the presentation of prizes to winners of the #GongXiPerak#TravelPeraklah in conjunction with CNY 2021 photography contest.

The winners were Liew Ching Seong (First Prize) followed with Nazrul Hisan Mohamad Tarmizi (second), Mohamad Ameruddin Mohd Shahrul Izuddin (third), Abdullah Mohd Yusof (fourth) and Heng Joe Keen (fifth).
