History of Concubine Lane:
After a blaze destroy Ipoh Old Town in 1892, its lanes of shop were rebuilt (Market Lane). Three of these lanes became gifts from a mining tycoon, Yao Tet Shin, to his three wives. Locals named the lanes as Wife Lane (Lorong Hale), Concubine Lane (Lorong Panglima) and Second Concubine Lane (Market Lane).
