YOUNG IPOHITES SHOW SPIRIT OF PATRIOTISM IN IPOH PARADE’S MERDEKA VIRTUAL COLOURING CONTEST

IPOH: Despite the Covid-19 situation, the spirit of patriotism has continued to shine among some young Ipohites, who recently took part in the Merdeka virtual colouring contest organised by Ipoh Parade.

The contest was a collaboration between Ipoh Parade and World of Colours Art Centre.

Some 194 participants turned up for the virtual contest held over Zoom last week, which was a two-hour online event for children age of 4 to 12 years old.

Ipoh Parade assistant manager for advertising and promotions Lim Huey Tyng said the contest was one of the most highly anticipated events at the mall but due to lockdown restrictions, the management has arrived at the decision to take the National Day spirit online this year.

“We want to instill the spirit of patriotism among the younger generation, hence we decided to hold this Merdeka-themed activity digitally so that everyone can participate from their home," she said.
