IPOH: The first Rest & Relaxation for Riders (3R) in the country was officially launched today (September 16), located next to Ipoh City Council (MBI) building.
Guest-of-honour was State Tourism committee chairman Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi.
Also present was Datuk Bandar Datuk Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud.
The event saw the presentation of 200 petrol vouchers worth RM5 for the riders.
Nolee said that the construction of seven 3R costs about RM500,000, whereby four locations were completed namely City Centre, Meru Raya, Jelapang and Medan Gopeng.
“However, three other locations with 85% completion are – Station 18, Klebang and Ipoh Garden, and expected to be ready by early-October.
“The facilities available at the 3R include resting area, prayer (solat), toilet and free WiFi services.
“The 3R facilities will benefit some 2,000 riders in Ipoh.
“The food delivery staff are recognized as ‘front liner’ especially during the Movement Control Order 1 and EMCO, where they are the people who delivered food to the community.
“The construction of the 3R is part of the State Stimulus Economy Package Phase 5, announced last December,” she said.
