Ipoh: Centenarian Choong Yat Han received her first dose of Sinovac vaccination at Meru Valley Resort, here.
Choong, aged 101, is a proud mother of eight children (5 sons and 3 daughters) and 30 grandchildren.
She said earlier on she did not want to get vaccinated, but her children advised her on the importance of getting vaccinated and she agreed.
“Today, I feel very happy that I have been vaccinated and I wish to thank Perak Community Specialist Hospital (PCSH) for the well-organised vaccination centre at Meru Valley Resort,” she said.
Meanwhile, PCSH chief executive officer Nicholas Chan said the spirit and courage of Madam Choong should be emulated to answer the government ‘s call to ensure as many Malaysians as possible received the vaccine.
“PCSH is proud to assist in the Covid-19 Immunisation Programme, consistent with its mission as a not-for-profit hospital, providing affordable yet quality healthcare to the community,” he said.
Also present was Meru Valley Resort director cum The Perak Chinese Maternity Association honorary general secretary Datuk Lim Si Boon.
