ROYAL IPOH CLUB DONATES TO THE UNDERPRIVILEGED

 

IPOH: The Royal Ipoh Club (RIC) gave away goodies to 40 recipients during its ‘Covid- 19 Assistance CSR Programme’ held at the Club premises, here. 

 


 

RIC president Shivdev Singh said that in this unfortunate time of the Covid-19 pandemic, there were many who are displaced in life and had to struggle for a single meal.

“Some are deprived of their decent paying jobs and facing great difficulty.

 


 

“The members of the club have now embarked on a vital and important role to assist the poor and needy in these extended bad times.

“We have collected more than RM20,000 donation from Club members and corporate companies for this on-going long term CSR programme.

“The criteria for selecting the recipients are they must be within the B40 category and from a poor background.

 


 

“Each recipients gets RM80 worth of dried food such as eggs, rice and tin food,” he said.

Meanwhile, event organizing chairman Datuk Dr. S. Sivanesan said that the Club members have responded generously towards this cause and welcomed well-wishers to contact the Club on how they could participate in assistance to relieve the distress of their fellow beings in the form of basic food necessities.

 


 

“The Club will continue this exercise to cover orphanages and homes for the elderly so long as the funds would accommodate,” he said.

L. Vallaitham Pillai and Dr. Dharminder Singh.
