FIRST ‘LIVE STREAMING’ FOR STATE ASSEMBLY MEETING

IPOH: The 14th State Legislative Assembly Meeting will be officiated by the Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah on the first day of the meeting.

It will be followed with one-hour of oral question session from August 26 until 30.

As per norm, there will be a debate session on August 26 and 27, for both Government and the Opposition to debate on matters at an allocated time of 20-minute per person.

For other matters of debate, the time allocated is 10-minute per person.

The 60-minute wrap-up session will be held on August 30.

All meeting adheres strictly to standard operating procedures where arrangements are made for sitting position of the attendees comprising of four meeting rooms and one main chamber.

“There will be 39 attendees seated in the main chamber, eight (Public Accounts Committee Meeting Room) and four each (Press/TSUKM/DNMMK Meeting Rooms). 

 

MAIN CHAMBER

 

State Assembly Speaker, Datuk Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid in a press conference stated that the state assembly meeting would be conducted via the bubble concept due to Covid-19 pandemic.

“All those who are attending the four days meeting are required to stay in Impiana Hotel, followed with daily screen tests before proceeding to the meetings via transportation organised for them.

“They must also undergo a Covid-19 swab test before attending the meeting.

“As of now, there are one state assemblyman found positive of Covid-19, another state assemblyman is a Covid-19 closed contact, and one more state assemblyman has yet to be vaccinated.

“However, the bubble concept will showcase ‘live streaming’ for the benefit of the department head, media members and the public through YouTube posted on SUK's Portal and FaceBook,” he said.
