IPOH: Perak Community Specialist Hospital (PCSH) launched its second Vaccination Centre “Mega PPV” administrating Covid-19 vaccinations under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme with Meru Valley Resort today (August 2), here.

The Mega PPV, a joint venture with Meru Valley Resort was initiated to assist the Government’s efforts to provide free vaccination for citizens who have registered under MySejatera and operates from Mondays to Fridays, at 8.30am to 5pm.
The registration of recipients and their respective vaccination dates are determined by the Ministry of Health via MySejatera or vaksincovid.gov.my.
Members of the public are advised not to visit the Vaccination Centre without prior appointment and walk-ins will not be accepted.

The Perak Chinese Maternity Association (TPCMA) president Datuk Lee Hau Hian said that PCSH is the first private hospital to be appointed as a Vaccinate Centre (PPV) on May 31.
“This second Mega PPV will be held at the Meru Valley Function Hall has been set up as Perak prepares the third phase of the National Recovery Plan (NRP).
“The usage of Meru Valley Resort, with its extensive facilities, can help contribute to the success of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Program, with its daily vaccination capacity of 600 recipients.

“Currently, PCSH is vaccinating 200 recipients daily on seven days a week which brings it to a total of 800 recipients.
“The number may not be huge, is a testament and support to increase the national vaccination rate and expedite the vaccination program.
“All the 20 staff currently serving in PPV Meru Valley
will have the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), face shields and
will follow the necessary protocols including social distancing, adhering to
the Ministry’s requirements,” he said.
He added that there was no likelihood of having to set up a third PPV, in the future as the National Covid-19 Immunisation Program may end by November.
“Besides, the recipients of vaccination rarely cancel their appointments whereby we only receive 3% of cancellation since the inception of the PCSH’s PPV,” he said.

Meru Valley Resort chief executive officer Shaifuzan Bahari said that they are honoured to support PCSH and play their part in the National Vaccination Program.
“We are committed to ensuring that our community achieve the program’s objectives in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Shaifuzan.
Also, present were – Meru Valley Resort director Datuk Lim Si Boon, Meru Valley Resort director Edwin Tan, TPCMA honorary treasurer Tham Chee Phing and PCSH chief executive officer Nicholas Chan.
