IPOH: Menteri Besar of Perak Datuk Saarani Mohamad made a visit to the current enhanced movement control order at Taman Meru 2, for a brief inspection of the area, here.
Saarani told the reporters in a press conference that the state (Perak) had expected to receive 1,013,924 vaccine doses in August, whereby till date the State had received 150,720 doses and the balance would arrive in stages.
“If the vaccine arrived as scheduled, the total of vaccine doses will be the highest ever received by the State, compared to 824,320 doses last month.
“If the State can achieve more than 40% rate of Covid-19 vaccination for next month, we may be able to move on to Phase 3 of the National Recovery Plan (PPN).
“However, the total daily cases must also be taken into consideration before we move on to Phase 3, where the requirement to meet is that new daily cases should be below 300 cases for seven consecutive days.
“Till date, the State vaccination programme has recorded a significant success for the past one week, where the rate of vaccination has rose tremendously,” he said.
On another issue, Saarani said that hotel and restaurant staff were expected to get their two doses of vaccination before re-operating the business, as this would be a safer option.
“No doubt the customers have their two doses of vaccination but it is still risky for the customers if the workers themselves are not vaccinated,” he said.
