IPOH: The Ipoh youth have spoken up!
The Anak Muda Perak held a flash mob themed “Buka Parlimen, Tekan Hon!” at the AEON Kinta City traffic lights, here today.
The protest started at 4pm and ended at 5.30pm before the pouring rain.
The police arrived about 4.15pm and cautioned the protestors to leave by 5.30pm.
There was a total of nine protestors holding placards with words written in marker pen such as “LawanLawan”, “Kerajaan Gagal” and “Letak Jawatan”, followed with a caricature of PM Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Individuals gathered with placard and waving a black flag.
The words on the placard were rather small and could not attract much passerby support. There were only a few cars passing by gave a hon when they notice the placard.
There were no crowds except the protestors themselves, apart from reporters from the newspapers, television and blog who were there to fish for news.
The media members were rather disappointed as they expect to see something as ‘big’ and ‘happening’ as in KL.
The protestors did adhere to social operating procedure where at each the four traffic lights, stood two protestors protesting in a silent mood.
The spokeman of the protest Steven Tie said the objective of the protest was to demand for the resignation of PM Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and his Cabinet for their failure to handle the C19 pandemic and demanded that Parliament continue to sit.
On July 31, some 2000 youths attended the # Lawan protest near Dataran Merdeka protesting similar objectives of the failed PN government.
Yesterday protest started at 10am however the crowd dispersed at 3.10pm peacefully without incident.
