VIRTUAL NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATION IN IPOH

 

IPOH: Come August 31, citizens will be celebrating National Day for the second time during the Covid-19 pandemic period.

A virtual celebration will be held instead of the usual colorful National Day procession in Ipoh City.

 


 

Menteri Besar of Perak Datuk Saarani Mohamad launched the National Day Month & Kibar Jalur Gemilang Negeri Perak 2021 campaign via Pejabat Setiausaha Kerajaan Negeri Perak’s Facebook, here.

Saarani said that there were only nine new covid cases followed with 9,103 positive and 125 deaths recorded on the last National Day (2020) compared with the current 20,000 positive and 11,000 deaths (2021).

 


 

“The pandemic has created unusual situation where people lost their jobs, business closed down, increased in poverty rate and disruption in school activities.

“As of August 1, the state government is giving away more than 10,000 flag in line with the National Day Perak State Level 2021 campaign, at the Vaccination Centre (PPV) Stadium Indera Mulia.

 


 

“The state government will also be organizing virtual programme for this upcoming National Day celebration including “Bicara Kemerdekaan” and “Info on Wheels Merdeka”, as well as to share knowledge on the importance of Merdeka to the people.

 


 

“Besides, there will be competition activities posted via Facebook namely Pertandingan Pidato Hari Kebangsaan, Keceriaan Bulan Kebangsaan, Kahoot-Kuiz Online, Bintang Patriotik Smule, Teka Silang Kata Online, Selebriti Merdeka PerakFM and Kuiz Kemerdekaan PerakFM.

 


 

“All information on activities can be accessible via Facebook Jabatan Penerangan Negeri Perak and Pejabat Setiausaha Kerajaan Negeri Perak,” he said.
