IPOH: The Perak State Government is organizing a tourism sport activity themed “Perak Chinese New Year Virtual Run 2021” from February 1 until 28, here.
The event was jointly organized by Tourism Perak and Malaysia Orienteering Club in line with the concept Online Data DashBoard – Perak Chinese New Year Virtual Run 2021.
State Tourism committee chairman Datuk Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi conducted a Zoom Press Conference said that the event was in conjunction of the CNY celebration practiced in the new normal way, which involves a 5km and 10km run, held at 12 tourism location at every state district.
“Participants can select to sign up from any of the 12 packages – payable fees are from RM55 – RM100, which comes with merchandise items such as t-shirt, medal, face mask and E-Certificate.
“The location designated are – Dr Seenivasagam Ipoh Park (Kinta), Taping Lake Gardens (Larut Matang Selama), Ujana Muallim & Embayu Proton City Lake Garden, Tanjung Malim (Muallim), Seri Iskander (Perak Tengah), Pekan Gerik (Hulu Perak), Chandan Hill (Kuala Kangsar), Ban Pecah (Kerian), Tapah (Batang Padang), Kampar Town, Kampar Recreation Garden, Kampar Japanese Garden (Kampar), Lumut Waterfront Esplanade Wing, Mangrove Park, Teluk Batik Public Garden (Manjung), Teluk Intan Leaning Tower (Hilir Perak), Selekoh, Sg. Sumun and Persisiran Bund (Bagan Datuk).
“As we know that this is the period of Covid-19 pandemic, hence, we shall make sure that participants adhere to the standard operation procedure (SOP), that is two participants are allowed to run/jog throughout the event,” said Nolee.
She added that the state government had successfully organized two previous Virtual Run namely Perak Virtual Run and Geopark Virtual Run, which had attracted some 1,811 and 623 participants, respectively.
