MBI ASSISTED MARKET TRADERS

 

IPOH: The Ipoh City Council (MBI), Fish Wholesaler Association and Vegetable Wholesaler Market of Kuala Pari jointly organised a charitable event to assist the underprivileged night market dealer, here. 

 


 

Datuk Bandar Datuk Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud hand over 200 food packages to ten hawker associations under MBI Caring Programme where each association allocated 20 hawkers to benefit from the food packages.

“Each food packages worth RM50 of grocery and essential items.

 


 

 “The associations are Persatuan Penjaja-Penjaja Kecil Melayu Pasar Malam Bergerak Melayu Kinta, Persatuan Penjaja & Peniagaan Kecil Bandaraya Ipoh, Persatuan Penjaja dan Peniaga Kecil Melayu Perkasa Negeri Perak, Pertubuhan Peniaga-Peniaga  Kecil Kinta, Persatuan Pasar Pagi and Pasar Malam Ipoh, Persatuan Usahawan Bersatu Ipoh Perak, Persatuan Pejaja-Penjaja Kecil Melayu Negeri Perak (1986) Kinta District, Jawatankuasa Surau AR Rahmaniah Taman Desa Aman, Rukun Tetangga Rapat Setia/Hillview and Persatuan Kebajikan Penduduk Kawasan Lengkok Meru Permai,” he said.

 


 

He added that the council gave out 200 food packages to hawkers who are affected by the pandemic, while some 500 of them have temporary permit to run their business from last November, in Ipoh.

 


 

“The affected hawkers are those who are registered with MBI, and who have no income for one month due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

 


 

“Currently, there are 2,000 hawkers registered with the council, and we will continue to help them if the lock down persists abiding to the Federal Government further rules implemented on Phase 2.

 


 

Persatuan Pasar Pagi and Pasar Malam Ipoh secretary Wong Kok Hoe thank the council and wholesalers for their assistance to 20 of the association members who were badly affected by the pandemic, as they solely depended on morning and night market business, here. 




Pertubuhan Peniaga-Peniaga Kecil Kinta deputy chairman Zahari Abd Murad said that the association has 800 members in Kinta, where 200 members were affected, and we encouraged them to sell their things via online to survive through the pandemic.  

 


 

 Also present was MBI  councilor Tony Khoo, Vegetable Wholesaler Market chairman Tan Peng Kiang and Fish Wholesaler Association chairman Goh Wee Seng.
