FIRST MBI'S INITIATIVE FOOD BANK

 

CHEMOR: The first Initiative Food Bank (Gerobok Rezeki) loaded with grocery was set up located by the roadside of Kampung Cik Zainal, here.

The village folks now can have access to the grocery by contacting the village representatives.

 


 

Ipoh City Council Datuk Bandar Datuk Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud and Councillor for Zon 1 (Khantan/Kampung Cik Zainal/Kg Ulu Chemor/Tanah Hitam) Datuk Mazlan Abd Rahman launched the Initiative Food Bank.

Rumaizi said that the Initiative Food Bank was the first one in Perak established under the Ipoh City Council Caring Programme, catering to the villagers with essentials items.

“People are affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and we want to help reduce the burden of the people during movement control order period (MCO).

 


 

“The council had utilized RM1 million for donation since MCO1, and there are plans to set up another seven Initiative Food Bank, located along Ulu Kinta and Tambun areas.

“The Initiative Food Bank here took seven days to construct at a cost of RM3,800, loaded with RM1,000 grocery items in it,” he said.

Meanwhile Datuk Mazlan said that the setting up of Initiative Food Bank would help in engaging villagers of all races here, and there were villagers who may want to sponsor food for the less fortunate in the village via this food bank.
