IPOH: The Rotary Club of Greentown (RCG) is organizing a “Food Bank & Blessing Box” project from 2pm to 8pm, June 18 until 20 held at A1 Cash and Carry Buntong.
The project is funded by RCG in collaboration with A1 Cash and Carry Buntong.
Food donation including perishable food items (meat, poultry, fish, milk, eggs, fruits and vegetables), semi-perishable food items (onions and potatoes) and non-perishable food items (dried beans, canned soups and spices).

president Rita Olikh said the goal of the project themed ‘Take What You Really Need,
Give What You Can, No One should Sleep Hungry’, was to ensure the needy people
around Ipoh, especially Buntong area get adequate food items during this Covid
pandemic and change the people’s life for a better tomorrow.
“We are providing food (essential items) worth or RM20 per head to feed the hungry, destitute, and poor with the hope to ease their burden.
“On the other hand, we have placed “Blessing Box” in A1 Cash and Carry for those interested in donating essential items into the box which will support the needy people during their difficult household situation.
“The project also acts as a platform for members of the public who are interested in food donation charity project to participate along as volunteers and donors,” she said.
Project organizing chairman Jiva Kandasamy said each family was entitled to five items, and A1 Cash & Carry donated RM10,000 and another RM5,000 by suppliers.
