GREAT VICTORIA BRIDGE, KARAI

I love posing with the beautifully preserved Victoria Bridge – a great place for photography session.

Victoria Bridge is a single track railway truss bridge located in Karai, Perak.

It is a popular tourism spot for a photography session – showcasing its beautiful scenic designed of the bridge as its backdrop.

HISTORIC VICTORIA BRIDGE

It is one of the oldest railway bridges in the country constructed between 1897 – 1900 by the Perak Government Railway as a crossing over Perak River to serve the tin mining industry.

The bridge remained in use until 2002, when a girder bridge was built parallel to the old bridge to take over the rail traffic.

To date, the old bridge's footbridge serves as a route for motorcycles and pedestrians to cross over from one village to another.

The state government had occasionally maintained the bridge to retain its structure.
