IPOH: Visitors can now detour the Ipoh Heritage Trail via cycling or rickshaw rides!
 

The tour was jointly organized by GoGo Leisure Venture and CycleDios.

A RICKSHAW RIDE THROUGH KINTA RIVER WALK

 A two-hour Ipoh Heritage Cycling tour will start-off from Kinta River Walk – Jalan Panglima Gantang – High Court – Railway Station – Town Hall – Little India – Concubine Lane – Tin Alley – Hongkong Bank – Ipoh Padang – Perak Tourism Info Centre – Kinta River Walk.

GoGo Leisure Venture chief Aaron Chen said that the ride would cover areas around Old Town aimed to introduce the beauty of heritage buildings and tourism spots in the city, to tourists.

“Visitors will enjoy a scenic ride across designated routes to view heritage buildings, scenery and mural arts at the Concubine Lane.

“There will be three stops – Railway station, Little India and Concubine Lane to allow visitors to take photographs.

CycleDios general manager Camees Foong said that the cycling package aimed to promote cycling tourism industry include bicycle activity and rickshaw tourism in Ipoh City.

Meanwhile, Perak Tourist Guide Association chairman Roselyn Lim said the heritage ride would serve as an eye opener for our local tourist guides to learn the trade of tour guiding using bicycle and rickshaw.

“They are given an opportunity hands-on the methods to ride a rickshaw in the city, marshalling duties, history of Ipoh and service skills.

“Most of our tourist guides are licensed guides and due to the Movement Control Order they have suffered financial difficulties due to lesser jobs offered, thus the association is now assisting them to find other alternatives to continue working as a tour guide,” she said.

The bicycle package is priced at RM50 per person (purchase of three tickets free one ticket).
