ROH'S CSR PROGRAMME

IPOH: Some 70 people attended a corporate social responsibility programme organised by Rentokil Initial Ipoh, held at the Ray Of Hope (ROH), in Bercham.

Guest of Honour was Bercham state assemblyman Ong Boon Piow who donated RM2,500 to ROH.

ROH chairman Datin Mary Lim said that the CSR programme has been initiated by Rentokil Initial is a service that will serve as great encouragement to the centre for learning disabilities.

The mission of ROH is to develop Social Interactions and Living Skills through creative and meaningful programmes held in a conducive and natural environment.

The programmes aimed for people with learning disabilities in the early days of 2001, served as a Center that provides supplementary education to them.

The programmes include Early Intervention Level followed with Supplementary Classes, Living Skill Training Level and Pre-sheltered.

PRESENTATION CEREMONY

Currently, there are about 30 individuals including children and adults learning at the centre.

She added that maintaining ROH is not an easy task and required a lot of finances to run the work in providing and enhancing the development of people with learning disabilities.

Meanwhile, Rentokil Initial (M) Sdn Bhd Regional Operations Manager Vincent Teh said that this was the third time for the company to work closely with ROH to perform CSR for the benefit of this centre for learning disabilities, here.

The company's CSR programme is a global initiative to give back to the society.

We also trained school children on practice of hygiene, and cleaning up of nursing home.

Today, we are cleaning up and provide pest control work, as well as interact with the children, here,” he said.

Also present were – Rentokil Initial Area Customer Care manager Richard Ow, ROH advisor Datuk Yeoh Beng San, ROH vice chairman Yeow Jin Jie and ROH Parents' representative Shareen Ng.

Later, guests participated in a guided tour around the centre followed with lunch.
