MBIFREEWIFI FOR IPOH CITY

 

IPOH: Sungai Tapah Manjoi is the first area in Ipoh City to receive the MBIFREEWIFI services, here.

The other 19 selected areas for the MBIFREEWIFI include Children’s Playground (Gerbang Malam), Kinta River Walk, Kampung Seri Kinta, Medan Kidd, Bercham and Menglembu, among others.

Datuk Bandar Datuk Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud launched the MBIFREEWIFE held at Sungai Tapah Community Hall.

Rumaizi said there were 20 locations selected to receive free WiFi services running at a speed of 300 Mbps under the council’s MBIFREEWIFI programme.

“The WiFi facility aims to assist students engaging in Teaching & Study at Home (PdPR) as well as to follow Teacher Saarani Tuition Programme which was launched by Menteri Besar Perak on February 3.

“In addition, the WiFi facility also assist businessmen in promoting their products in the market via internet.

“MBIFREEWIFI can accommodate 200 to 250 WiFi users at one time coupled with a 50-metre coverage from the location allotted for free WiFi.

“The council has allocated RM200,000 for the cost of the whole MBIFREEWIFI project, and RM50,000 internet billing per year,” he said adding the project for 20 locations will complete by April-end.

Later, Rumaizi presented ten tablets to residents of Kampung Manjoi listed under the B40 group for the purposes of PdPR.
