IPOH: The Ipoh City Council (MBI) has recently planted 10 Brazilian Ironwood trees in conjunction with Tree Planting Community Programme held at Taman Rishah Indah field, here.
Datuk Bandar Datuk Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud said that the ‘Our Trees, Our Life’ campaign aimed to create awareness among the community on the importance of caring for the greens and forest and to maintain healthy quality of life, ecosystem and biodiversity of the country.
“In addition, the campaign also encourages the love for trees and a commitment to protect the forest around us.
‘The government is targeting to plant 100 million trees starting from now until 2025,” he said.
Also present was Buntong state assemblyman A. Sivasubramaniam.
