PREMATURE BABY DAY

 

IPOH:  The Sultan Yussuff Roundabout and Ipoh Town Hall was lighted up in purple color, from 8pm to 12 midnight, yesterday.

The lighting up event was organized jointly by Ipoh City Council (MBI) and Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun Ipoh.

Datuk Bandar Datuk Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud said the event was to celebrate World Prematurity Day 2020, which falls on November 17.

“Premature birth is a birth that takes place more than three weeks before the baby’s estimated due date or babies born before 37th week of gestation.

“The lightings also show the council’s support for premature babies.

“In the past, the Empire State Building in New York and Menara Kuala Lumpur had celebrated such occasion,” he said.
