HISTORIC MALACCA
It
was a yearly affair for Sunway College Ipoh, to bring students to
Malacca, to participate in a competition, held at MMU.
I
was among the three teachers who volunteered to assist the students
in getting accommodation, transport, lunch & dinner, and drew up
a tour schedule.
DUTCH SQUARE |
DAY
1:
Upon
arrival, we had lunch at the Hoe Kee Chicken Rice – where the ball
rice is a popular dish which comes together with the steamed chicken.

Walked over to A-Famosa, Windmill Dutch Square and Clock Tower – for sightseeing and photography session.
A FAMOSA SQUARE |
A Famosa is a former Portuguese fortress located in Malacca, and is among the oldest surviving European architectural remains in Southeast Asia and the far East. The Porta de Santiago, a small gate house, is the only part of the fortress which still remains today.
JONKER STREET |
Just
take a 10-minute walk across the road from the square – one can
reach Jonker Street – a place for shopping of traditional things
and souvenir, here.
By
afternoon, we stopped by Shore Sky Tower to view the overall scenery
of Malacca. Unfortunately, due to bad weather, the tour was canceled.
DAY 2:
In
the morning, students registration for the contests at MMU. After
that, followed with a tour to Klebang Beach. While enjoying the
breeze we had a taste of coconut milkshake before we adjourned to
