IPOH: The management of Kinta River Front Hotel (KRF) and the Kiwanis Club of Meru
Valley (KCMV) jointly organised a Xmas party themed “Care, Give, Love” catered
for the less fortunate children in Ipoh.
The children aged 3 to 17, were from Good Shepherd Family Home, Praise
Boys Home, Praise Girls Home and Praise Emmanuel Home.
The staff of the hotel and KCMV members also played party games with the
children, and each of them were presented a DIY photograph frame.
Highlight of the event was the appearance of Santa Claus, and posing for
a group photograph.
Later, the children were feted to a sumptuous lunch by the hotel.
KRF assistant Marcom manager Amelia Teng said this was the third time
the hotel co-organised a festive event for the children together with KCMV,
and this was part of the management’s corporate social responsibility to give back to the community.
Meanwhile, KCMV president Christopher Lau said the club had presented
uniform, lunch box, stationary and foodstuffs to the children.
“Our club has been organising meaningful programme to serve the children
in the world for the last seven years, especially underprivileged children of
our community.
“We are planning to organise another CNY Kiwanis Get-Together with
children from selected homes, for the coming Chinese New Year.
“Apart from festive events, we will continue to do the Kiwanis One
Day service project which involves visiting sick children at the Ipoh General
Hospital, here.
“In addition, our club will joint venture with other Kiwanis clubs to carry on a grand children's project specifically on family picnic day, in June,” he said.
KCMV encouraged donors as well as those who wish to know more about the
club facilities, to call: 012-5388303 (Christopher).
