KERIS CSR TOWARDS BETTER LIVING

IPOH: Some 400 guests attended an “ECO-Raya” celebration in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri organised by Palazzo Development Sdn Bhd, held at the playground at Taman Ipoh Impian, Ipoh Garden East.

Palazzo Development Sdn Bhd is a subsidiary company of the Team Keris Berhad (TKB) Group had also commenced its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, here.

Guests included representatives from state and local agencies, residents and the media members.

The event is a unique Hari Raya open house which also coincides with the company’s CSR initiative in to clear, beautify and improve the condition of the Sungai Pinji riverbanks and its surroundings.

To start of with, there was a cleaning up task at the area of Sungai Pinji followed with the public participated in the planting of 120 trees, and a site tour with walk through of the future plans of this CSR programme leading to the handing back of the playground and the riverbanks to Ipoh City Council (MBI) and Water Works (JPS) respectively.

Apart from the Sungai Pinji riverbanks, it also involves the improvement of the 1.61-acre playground, the adjacent reserved land and a facelift of the TNB substation at the location. 

TREES PLANTING IN ACTION

Palazzo Development Sdn. Bhd. has also undertaken to maintain the area and to further enhance it with LED lightings as a service to the community for the next three years before surrendering it back to the respective agencies.

The CSR programme is a collaboration with Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh (MBI), Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran Negeri Perak (JPS) and Tenaga National Berhad (TNB).

The guest were the feted to a sumptuous Hari Raya dishes and a walk around the area.

THE SITE

KERIS Properties Sdn Bhd director Chloe Lee said in line with the CSR Programme at Ipoh Garden East, we have planned activities to clean up, beautify and improve the riverbanks of Sungai Pinji and its surroundings, including the existing playground at Taman Ipoh Impian, which is a location very close to our hearts.

“We have also noticed that the area which we are cleaning up now has long been a dumping site for the public and it has become a burden to not only the authorities, but to the community at large due to the health and environment hazards they bring. 

CLEARING UP AT SG PINJI

“We feel that it is our duty, even in a small way, to complement the State and its agencies efforts in maintaining and protecting our beautiful environment as the city grows.

“As such, Palazzo Development Sdn Bhd has undertaken to rejuvenation of the 708-meter Sungai Pinji riverbanks where they will be cleared of overgrown shrubs and vegetation, and shall be further energised by the glows of LED lights in the evening upon completion.

ONE FOR THE ALBUM

“There will be an upgrading and enhancement of the 1.61-acre playground at Taman Ipoh Impian and the adjacent reserved land to create a better and more meaningful recreational spot for the community.

“There will also be a complete facelift of the existing TNB substation at this location with unique and eye-catching designs; this being the first of such in Ipoh, Perak,” she said.
