TOURISM MALAYSIA NETWORKING

IPOH: Some 120 guests attended the “Tourism Highlights & Networking Session with Industry Players", organised by Tourism Malaysia held at Hotel MH, here.

The industry players included those from the hotels, tourist-related products, government agencies and the media members.

Tourism Malaysia (Northern) director Sani Sham Ahmad said that the objective of the event was to highlight places of interest and products available, in the State.

“The event also formed a platform for tourism industry players from the northern region to meet and exchange ideas.

“In addition, Tourism Malaysia announced the arrival of tourist into Perak state is 16.8 million (domestic tourist) in 2016, followed with 20.1 million in 2017.

"We hope to organise a networking event every three months, in a year," he said.

Later, guests were feted with a sumptuous buffet and a lucky draw session.

The grand prize winner was Sri Maju Tours & Travel Sdn Bhd director Wendy Shin who received a 2D1N stay in Pulau Langkawi.

Also present were - Tourism Perak chief executive officer Zuraida Md Taib, Perak Tourist Association president Datuk Haji Mohd Odman Abd Kadir and Perak Tourist Guides Association chairman Rosely Lim.
