KRAIZEE HALLOWEEN GETS CRAZIER AT IPOH PARADE

IPOH: Some 50 children paraded in their best Halloween costumes and celebrated a “Kraizee Halloween” with their parents held at Ipoh Parade Shopping Mall, here.

 The theme for the Halloween campaign is to explore some of the town's most popular urban legends that haunt many of the schools, a great many of which were established under the British Rule.

MOUTHWATERING DISHES
 The restaurant, is now adding on other dishes apart from its original prawn dishes.
Its evergreen prawn dishes are – Two Flavoured Shrimp, Saute Shrimp, Butter Shrimp, Kam Heong (Spicy) Shrimp, Steamed Freshwater Shrimp, Rice Wine Freshwater Shrimp and Tempura Fried Shrimp.

A walk around the restaurant backyard, saw an improvement made on the surrounding where there are - a mini tin dredge, colorfully hand painted stones, and a God Statute which is encouraging for photography session.

GARFIELD AND FRIENDS ICONIC APPEARANCE AT LOST WORLD OF TAMBUN

IPOH: The school holiday is just round the corner! 

Children be prepared to meet your favourite Garfield and his Friends, from November 24 until January 1, held at the Lost World of Tambun (LWOT), here.

ONE FOR THE ALBUM
 
The classic lasagne loving orange cat Garfield and his Friends will meet and greet fans at the House of Garfield every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Visitors could also collect stickers with the exclusive Garfield passport as they go through each Garfield- themed station games.

However, in conjunction with Garfield's 40th Anniversary, December babies may also get a free slice of cake on every weekend throughout the month of December, just by showing their MyKid or MyKad, to the crew.

Visitors are also encouraged to showcase their dance moves as they move and groove with Garfield at the Awesome Pool Party. The big orange cat will be performing at 6.30pm every day.

LWOT general manager Nurul Nuzairi Mohd Azahari said everyone has probably heard, read, or watched Garfield at least once in their lifetime which makes this event an iconic one for us here at water theme park.

The team has put in extra effort to ensure that the celebration with the iconic cartoon figure would be remembered by visitors as they spend their time with their loved ones while reminiscing on the classic characters, here.

LONGEST DECORATION CAKE

LONGEST DECORATION CAKE BY SPECIAL NEEDS STUDENT IN MALAYSIA

IPOH: For the first time, some 76 special students participated in creating “The Longest Decoration Cake By Special Needs Student in Malaysia”, organised by the Perak State Education Department (Special Education Unit).

The students aged 16 and 19, hailed from all states in the country joint hands to create the longest decoration cake measuring 50-metre long, meant for the Malaysia Book of Records.

Perak State Education Department (Special Education Unit) assistant officer for special education Nizam Pakhuruddin said the objective of getting the special students to participate in the longest decoration cake event was to build confidence in them.

The students who have studied “Cooking & Pastry” in class, are encouraged to apply what they had learn in order to create the longest decoration cake,” he said adding that the costs of the whole activity is RM3,000.

SUB'S BLING BLING HALLOWEEN

IPOH: Some 36 contestants attired in their best halloween costumes participated in the “Bling Bling Halloween” event, organised by the SUB International Beauty School, here.

The contestants took on stage showing off their halloween attires - scary, daring and creative coupled with a colourful made-up do, and putting on an act.

There were three categories namely skeleton/vampire, bloody/broken and zombie/ghost.

Among the popular characters were – Shudder, Zombie Kak Limah, Futuristic Ghost, The Vampire, Evil Nurse, Spooky Mermaid, Tattered Bride, Invisible Wings, Bloody Queen and Death Skull.

Contestants were adjudged based on creativity, popular, costume and acting skills.
The judges present were Wong Shau Meng, May Goh, Charlie Mok, Dr Koh Kai Yee, Lai Kim Koon and May Chong (Champion 2017).

SUB managing director Carrie Lam said the event aimed at giving an opportunity to our beautician students to do a Halloween made-up, and to showcase their costumes on stage.

We are organising the Halloween Nite in conjunction with SUB's 10th Anniversary celebration,” she said.

IPOH: The Movie Animation Park Studios (MAPS) is holding a Halloween Event themed “Hallow From The Other Side”, for four days, here.

It will be held on October 26 and 29 at 4pm and 7pm, and on October 27 and 28 at 2pm, 4pm, 7pm and 9pm.

HALLOWEEN CHARACTERS ARE HERE TO ENTERTAIN

The event is a collaboration of MAPS and Sacred Riana.

The Sacred Riana's show can be watched at MAPS Theatre with a minimum purchase of RM15 worth of MAPS Retail items.

MAPS chief executive officer Shafeli Abdul Gaffoor said the halloween event aimed to educate community on the Halloween characters and it is a good time for families to strengthen ties by spending time together.

A host of ghostly activities has been lined up for visitors – including games and stage performances namely Trilogy Magic Factory Magicians, Haunted House, Opening Zombie Flash Mob, Zombie Busker, Pontianak Dance, Zombie Bboy, Haunting Closing Parade, Flying Pizza by Chef Joe, Ghost Rider by Shahfiez.

MISS COSMOPOLITAN WORLD 2018 FINALISTS IN IPOH

IPOH: Some 29 finalists of the Miss Cosmopolitan World 2018 arrived at the Kinta Riverfront Hotel & Suites, for a press meet-up session, today.

The event was organised by Amelia Productions and jointly sponsored by the Kinta Riverfront Hotel, CycleDios Berhad and Happy 8 Resort.

The finalists hailed from Australia, Cambodia, China (Beijing & Shanghai), Colombia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Latin America, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, Namibia, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippines, Taiwan, Tonga, Ukraine, USA, Vietnam, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Also present was Miss Cosmopolitan World 2016 Veronika Markova from Russia.

Amelia Productions director Amelia Liew said that the beauties will be staying for 2D1N in Ipoh, where they will be visiting places such as Ipoh Old Town, Happy 8 Resort and Lost World of Tambun.

The event is a run-up to the finals – where the girls will visit places like Penang, Ipoh, Pahang and Kuala Selangor before returning to Kuala Lumpur. 
 
However, Ipoh City is chosen as one of the destination among the other states for the girls to experience the heritage Old Town, glorious food and to enjoy the water theme park in Lost World of Tambun," she said.

LWOT WELCOMES BABY ZEBRA

LOST WORLD OF TAMBUN WELCOMES A NEW BUNDLE OF JOY – BABY ZEBRA

IPOH: For the first time, the Lost World of Tambun (LWOT) greeted the arrival of a male baby zebra here, last month.

The baby zebra named ZuZu, weighed 30 kilogram and was delivered at 10.54 pm on, September 11.

Baby ZuZu is the child from the first pair of zebra named Zack (the father) and Zoey (the mother), imported from Africa in 2016.

The loving parents of ZuZu are residents from the Giraffe and Friends Exhibit area.

The mother was on a duration of 13 months pregnancy and the vet had closely watched over the mother's progress so as to capture if there was any changes in behavior, including after birth.

In order to safeguard the mother and baby, the management had built a wooden fence to prevent animals on the other side including a pair of ostrich and camel, and a giraffe from disturbing them, as the 'baby' is a newcomer to the community of animals, here.

Currently, the baby zebra is feeding on his mother's milk, and will go on solid food after six months.

The event of welcoming baby zebra ZuZu, was also in conjunction with “World Animal Day” which falls on every October, 4.

The water theme park had organised a special three days World Animal Day, held at its Animal Care Centre.

Guest were greeted by pet animals (raccoon, python, parrot) where they can get close up while learning about their natural habitat, species and there are talks conducted by experienced veterinarian.

Furthermore, guest took the opportunity to experience building their own Do-It-Yourself Terrarium using a recycled material. Defined by a collection of small plant growing in a transparent, sealed container with a closed environment, a terrarium is a perfect way to illustrate how an ecosystem works. Besides, it also showcase the importance of nature and how recycling can help the Earth where this activity is in line with United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals under the Sustainable Consumption and Production area.

The event also witnessed a cake cutting ceremony joined hands by the LWOT general manager Nurul Nuzairi Mohd Azahari, Department of Wildlife & National Parks Peninsular Malaysia (Perak) deputy chairman Wan Shaharuddin Wan Nordin, and management staff.
