IPOH: For the first time, Pantai Hospital Ipoh collaborated with Good Shepherd Services (GSS) distributed food and hygiene gift packs to the less fortunate in the community, here.
The event was held at GSS’s Buntong community service, today (October 8).
PHI chief executive officer Chong Siet Fong said that the corporate social responsibility project was part of celebrating the hospital 25th Anniversary, as well as remember the less fortunate and those hard hit by the pandemic.
“The hospital staff and doctors chipped in and raised funds for 250 goody boxes worth RM80 per box to be given for the vulnerable and underprivileged women and children, with emphasis on B40 group.
“The hygiene gift packs provided by PHI comprise of personal items such as face masks, hand sanitizers, shower gel and towels apart from some groceries.
“PHI is also celebrating ‘Pink October Breast Cancer Awareness Month' which falls on October.
“The hospital urges all ladies above 40 years of age to go for a mammogram.
“In working with the National Cancer Society Malaysia, mammograms are being provided free at PHI for household income group below RM5,000.
“Anyone interested to do a mammogram and meets the above requirement, call contact PHI’s Imaging Department at 05-5405659," she said.
