AMCAA IPOH AGM

 

IPOH: Madam Moy Ooi Thye retains as the President while Chik Mun Ling is the Deputy President for Ave Maria Convent Alumni Association Ipoh (AMCAA).

 


 

The annual general meeting cum Election of the 23rd committee members for year 2021-2023 was conducted via online due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation.

Moy expressed her sincere appreciation to all the committee members for their years of dedicated service and full co-operation in carrying out all the activities successfully. 

 


 

She said despite the current circumstances, the association had come up with the ‘AMCAA Education Sponsorship programme’ aimed to provide financial aid to needy students currently studying in our Alma mater, SMJK & SJKC Ave Maria Convent who are in need of tuition fees, mobile data or electronic devices to follow online learning at home.

“The committee unanimously agreed to launch the project and started a donation drive to get as many alumni’s or generous donors as possible to contribute to our Education Sponsorship Fund.  

 


 

“We are glad to announce that to date we manage to collect a total of RM70,000 plus for the education project.

“We hope that every year alumni or generous donor could contribute RM50 or RM100 to this programme to help students in need,” she said.

BIOFRI 3-IN-1 DO

IPOH: BIOFRI celebrated its first year Anniversary, Biofri soft launching and mock cheque presentation held at Excelsior Hotel, here.

The event started off with a ribbon cutting ceremony to officiate the soft launch of Biofri followed with a cake cutting for Biofri First Anniversary and a mock cheque presentation.

 


 

Biofri founder Frida Khong said that the event aimed to celebrate a 3-in-1 do, whereby the company celebrated its first Anniversary, Biofri soft launching and performing charity aid to two homes.

 

 


 

“It is also an early Deepavali celebration where we donated RM1,000 and items to Pusat Kebajikan Rumah Orang Kurang Upaya and Pusat Kebajikan Anak Anak Yatim Kasih Sayang.

“The event also witnesses the launching of Biofri Synbiotic, a multiblend of Prebiotic and Probiotic, a supplement for Guts health and wellbeing.

 


 

“Biofri was established on September 28, last year, is an Amino Antioxidant Collagen beverage supplement that enhances the biological reverse aging, regenerates and restores damaged tissues and organs, improves on cartilage and bones plus an immune booster,” she said.

MOU SIGNING BETWEEN MBI AND ECONSAVE

 

IPOH: Datuk Bandar Datuk Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on behalf of Ipoh City Council (MBI) and Econsave held at MBI premises, here.

The signing ceremony was represented by Econsave Operation Manager Northern 2 Chua Yong Chiang.

Also present were MBI secretary Ahmad Munir Ishak and Econsave Jelapang branch manager Shah Effendy Rosman.

Rumaizi said the signing of the MOU was to witness the successful implementation of MBI Caring Program with the council’s strategic partner, Econsave.

“Ever since the beginning of the movement control order (MCO) on March 18 last year, MBI has launched the MBI Caring Program which till date (October 22) has utilized approximately RM1 million to assist the needy people, traders and MBI employees during the challenging Covid-19 pandemic period.
