LOST WORLD OF TAMBUN'S ZOOTASTIC TIME ESCAPE


IPOH: The Lost World of Tambun (LWOT) has re-open its zoo to some 500 visitors, during the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) period, today (June 13).

It's zoo consists of eight wildlife themed parks namely Petting Zoo, Giraffe & Friends, Tiger Valley, Hippo Kingdom, Catopia, Tarantula Alley and Wetlands & Bird Paradise.

There are 123 species whereby 364 animals are registered with the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (PERHILITAN).

Visitors can get-close and interact with the giraffe, camel and zebra, meet the Tiger or take photographs with parrots, rabbit and raccoon, here.

The animal shows are slotted at 2.30 pm, at the Tiger Valley.

LWOT general manager Nurul Nuzairi Mohd Azahari said cleanliness and safety was the management top priority where guests would have their temperature checked before entering and they were required to wear face masks.

There are also basin/soap and 50 sanitiser spot, for the convenience of our visitors,” he said.

Nurul said the management were happy to welcome their first batch of visitors today and most of them took precaution themselves by social distancing while detouring the zoo areas.

The more popular places are Giraffe & Friends and Hippo Kingdom while the less popular is the snakes.

After three months of absence from human beings, the animals are a bit nervous but active as today is the first time they are interacting with humans during RMCO period.

We are targeting 1,000 guests on weekends and hopefully the number of visitors will increase to 4,000 per day in July,” he said.

He added that the maximum capacity for the zoo would be 8,000 visitors per day during RMCO period (25% from our maximum capacity of 38,000 visitors on normal festive seasons).

Admission prices to the eight wildlife parks are – RM32 (MyKad/child) and RM39 (MyKad/adult)/ RM59 (adult) and RM49 (child).

The Petting Zoo will be operating from 11am to 6pm (except Tuesday).
