IPOH:
Street Dance enthusiasts are invited to sign-up for a street dance
competition themed “Shuddup N' Dance”, to be held on March 14 and
15, at the Ipoh Parade Shopping Mall, here.
The
competition will start off on March 14 - with 1 on 1 Popping Battle
(Top 16) at 2pm, 1 on 1 BBoy Battle (Top 16) (3pm), Junior Crew
Showcase (4pm) and the 2 on 2 Popping X BBoy Battle (Top 8) (5pm).

Meanwhile,
on March 15 the competition comprises of 1 on 1 Open Style Battle
(2pm) and Street Dance Crew Showcase (4pm).
A
total of RM20,000 of cash prizes and sponsored gifts awaits the
winners.
Championship
prizes include - 2 on 2 Popping x BBoy Battle champion will walk away
with RM500, TNT Co vouchers worth RM500 and Lost World of Tambun
Tickets worth RM476.
The 1 on 1 Open Style Battle champion will
received RM500, TNT Co voucher of RM500 and Lost World of Tambun
tickets worth RM238.
Whereas, Crew Showcases (Junior Crew Showcase
and Street Dance Crew Showcase) champions will return home with
RM1,000 plus TNT Co vouchers worth RM1,000 and Lost World of Tambun
tickets of RM1,071.
Judges
are – Rejuvenate Dance Crew leader Danny Lee, B-Boy Legal Sam and
PSVR Crew's Kar Kheng.
Ipoh
Parade marketing head Alan Thoo said that this was Shuddup N' Dance's
seventh consecutive year and it was the country's longest-running
street dance competition aimed to provide a platform for dancers to
showcase their talents on stage.
“The
competition comprised of three categories namely Junior Crew Showcase
(any style) followed with Solo Battles (Popping Battle, BBoy Battle &
Open Style Battle) and Street Dance Crew Showcase.
“However,
only the Top 3 crews from Street Dance Crew Showcase will proceed to
the Grand Finals held on August 22 and 23, at Klang Parade.
“All
participants will be judged based on technicality, creativity,
originality, attire and overall performance,” he said.
Ipoh
Parade's Advertising and Promotions Assistant Manager Lim Huey Tyng
said that the event not only unveiled young talents but also support
younger generation to lead a healthy lifestyle through dancing.
