IPOH:
The Ipoh City Council's Retiree Association (PERMAI) gave away 105
boxes of food items to its members.
Ipoh
City Council's Mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin and PERMAI president Datuk
Mohamad Rafial Moktar presented the food boxes to the
representatives.
Datuk
Rumaizi Baharin said the donation aimed to help the retiree who find
difficulties in leaving their homes to get their necessities, during
the Covid-19 Movement Control Order (MCO) period.
“Some
of them who are still working are now financially affected by the
extension of the MCO,” he said.

PERMAI
was set up in 2009 by the former Mayor Datuk Roshidi Hashim to assist
the welfare of the retiree and it had served as a platform for
fostering relationship between City Council and the former staff. In
addition, the association helps retiree in the form of monetary aid
and buying necessities during economic crises, natural disaster and
accident cases.
PERMAI
Kinta Bhd Cooperative has also contributed financially to the
association in order for it to run economic activities for the
benefit of the retiree.
