MBI, ECOSAVE JELAPANG REACH OUT TO WHITE FLAG RESIDENTS

 

IPOH: The Ipoh City Council (MBI) and EcoSave Jelapang had jointly organised a charity event to help the White Flag resident living in Klebang who were in need of food packages, here.

 

DATUK AZIZUL KAMA GIVING AWAY FOOD PACKAGES TO MEGALA AT TAMAN KLEBANG PUTRA

 

Cleaner R. Megala, 37, from Taman Klebang Putra was brimming with joy when she received visitors who were at her doorstep to present her with groceries and food.

She said that she had lost her cleaner job for one month, and there were unpaid utility bills and rental to be settled.

“Normally, I will get to work as house cleaner with a wage rate of RM20 per day, which can help me to cover expenses such as food, bills and rental.

“Now, I have put up the white flag for one week, and I did receive food supplies from friends and neighbours, here.

 

MEGALA UNPACKING THE FOOD STUFF WITH HER DAUGHTER

 

Megala who lived separately from her husband, now lives with her three children aged between 13 and six.

However, she did not get any financial assistance from her husband, thus putting up a white flag was her ultimate choice.

Meru Valley and Klebang (Zon 5) councilor Datuk Azizul Kama Abdul Aziz said that this was the third case under the MBI Caring Programme where the councilor had assisted the white flag residents, in Ipoh.

“The first white flag case was on July 2, where food packages worth RM250 was given to a resident Norzazali Mohamad, living in Tasek due to Covid-19 pandemic.

 

MEGALA PUTTING UP A WHITE FLAG

 

“The second case was food packages worth RM150 given to Fairuz Hashim who live in Buntong Harmoni Flat, due to Covid-19 pandemic.

“All food packages are sponsored by Econsave Jelapang.

“As of January till date, the council had contributed RM355,600 under its Caring Programme to help the unfortunates in Ipoh,” he said.

Meanwhile, the team also visited Raudahatul Hazieqah Sharul Naimidi, 23, from Klebang Jaya who also lost her job as a waitress due to the recent implementation of the movement control order (MCO).

 

DATUK AZIZUL KAMA GIVING AWAY FOOD STUFF TO RAUDAHATUL AT KLEBANG JAYA

 

A divorcee with two young children Raudahatul said she was not able to pay one month rental and she required essential and food to survive during this pandemic.

Datuk Bandar Datuk Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud had earlier said that the council had identified 15 White Flag residents living in Ipoh, and we are going to them in stages.

Also present was Ecosave Northern Region 2 operation manager Chua Yong Chiang and Ecosave Jelapang manager Shah Effendy Rosman.

 

STRINGERS RECEIVE FOOD PACKAGES

 

IPOH:  Some 30 journalists received food packages and rice during the Covid-19 pandemic period, here.

The food stuff was donated by Ipoh City Council (MBI), Boba Teh Sdn Bhd and the Perak Media Sports & Welfare Club. 

 

 

Perak Media Sports & Welfare Club president Rosli Mansor thanked the organisors for donating food essentials to our media members from nine media companies stationed in Ipoh.

“The food stuff will help to reduce the burden of the stringers whose income depends on daily contribution of articles to their company.

 

 

“The stringers are from The New Straits Times Press, Bernama, Astro Awani, AL Hijrah, Peraktastic, RTM, Oriental Daily, Emily2U and Travelcolour,” he said.

Berita Harian reporter Balqis Zahari said that the food packages are timely, as it helped to reduce burden of buying the necessities.

 

 

Bernama’s Nurul Ezzaty Mohd Azhari said she was happy to receive the food packages, as she was from outstation and these food stuff may last her a few months.

 

 

 

 

MAYOR DISTRIBUTED FOOD PACKAGES TO TRADERS, STRINGERS AND MBI STAFF

 

IPOH: The Ipoh City Council (MBI), Boba Teh Sdn Bhd and Perak Media Sports & Welfare Club had jointly organised the MBI Caring charity programme to assist those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, here.

 

 

Datuk Bandar Datuk Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud said that food packages (wet and dried stuff) were distributed to 125 traders from Gerbang Malam (Nite Market), as they were not able to trade for one month during the movement control order (MCO 3).

 

 

“We have been doing charity since the pandemic started last year, and we are now focusing on those who lost their income due to the continuous implementation of the MCO.

 

 

“There is an increased of 60% population in Ipoh who lost their income during this pandemic and we will continue to assist them to overcome difficulties.

“In addition, we also donated food packages to five MBI staff and 30 journalists in Ipoh,” he said,

 

 

Daboba Malaysia director Choong Jun Meng said that the company houses a chain of café bubble tea and the management would continue to perform their corporate social responsibility via extending assistance to the needy during the Covid-19 pandemic period.

 

 

Meanwhile, Perak Media Sports & Welfare Club president Rosli Mansor thanked the organisors for giving away dried food packages and rice to 30 stringers from ten media companies in Ipoh.

Also present were – Ipoh City Council secretary Ahmad Munir Ishak and councilor Abu Bakar Hussian.

 

 

 

BARBED WIRES ON STAIRCASE, IS IT NECESSARY???

 

MY SAY

Please do not installed razor barbed wire in emergency exit for flats. It is too dangerous. 

The residents know what is enchanced movement control order EMCO. 

No need to go to the extreme. You may endanger lives.

The barbed wire was set up at Blk C PPR, Kpg Baru Air Panas, KL.

It was later taken out. Fire & Rescue Services Department DG Hamdan Osman denied approval was given to Bomba for putting up  barbed wire.

Never do this ridiculous act for the sake of EMCO!
