Chang Jiang
White Coffee is among the first manufacturer for “White Coffee” product.
The company
started operation in the 70s, producing coffee and tea in a coffeeshop located at
Pasir Putih.
The company
also runs a “Rumah Style Café” (CJ7) at Jalan Windsor, “Kopitam Style Café”
(CJ9) at Casuarina Building and the latest is “Guangdong Garden Style Cafe”
(CJ12) at People’s Park.
The opening
ceremony started off with a lion dance performance followed with signing of
plaque and ribbon cutting.
Rumaizi said
that Chang Jiang is currently working with Ipoh City Council (MBI) to promote
tourism via coffee and helping Ipoh to become popular for food and coffee.
“Chang Jiang
is selected out of 32 other food products to be included in the Ipoh Heritage
& Food Trail.
“As such,
Chang Jiang aims to introduce its ‘Ipoh White Coffee’ to the tourists at
People’s Park, where they can stop-by to have an original taste of the coffee and
view the technical process of producing white coffee.
“The concept
of the cafe is to reveal the culture, lifestyle and food consume by the Chinese
Guangdong people, in the past.
“Besides,
People’s Park is now open to small businesses to sell traditional product or
homemade festival food like kuih, biscuit and clothing aimed to attract
tourists, here,” he said.
Rumaizi
added that the council is now planning to make Ipoh the ‘City of Coffee’, by
June next year.
“To start
off, the council has allocated one acre land for planting of a variety of
coffee species, at Gunung Lang and Tasik Cermin.
“We will
also be learning the coffee trade and how to plant successful coffee trees,
from our coffee partners Chang Jiang,” he said.
Meanwhile, Syarikat
Chang Jiang White Coffee executive director Sam Foong said that the company
Chang Jiang specifically promote coffee, plant coffee trees, and educate coffee
enthusiasts on the process of how to make coffee powder.

was Syarikat Chang Jiang White Coffee director (management) Kong King Loong.
