TERENGGANU MEDIA MEMBERS VISITS IPOH

IPOH:  Some 100 media members attended a dinner organised by the Perak Media Sports & Welfare Club held at Lost World of Tambun (LWOT), here.

The dinner aimed to welcome some 30 media delegates from Terengganu on a 3D2N tour to Ipoh and Penang.

Guest-of-honour was Datuk Bandar Datuk Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud.

Also present were Terengganu Media Sports & Welfare Club deputy president Suhaimi Ahmad, Representative of Perak Media Sports & Welfare Club Mohd Syahrizal Azmi, LWOT manager Nurul Nuzairi Mohd Azahari and Perak Industrial Resources Sdn Bhd marketing manager Hardeep Kaur Dhaliwal.

Rumaizi said that the Ipoh City Council had organized a series of event to foster relationships between the media members and the council, such as Media Nite and Welcoming Media Members from Terengganu.

“The dinner serves as a platform of getting to know the media from Terengganu whilst creating a mutual understanding between the two States in exchanging information on tourism products with one another.

“Ipoh City is listed among the ten cities most visited in Asia by the Lonely Planet Travel website where the focus is on food, hipster cafe, boutique hotel, Taj Mahal Railway Station, and Old Town.

“The main attractions in Old town are – Market Lane (Cultural), Concubine Lane (Mural Arts), Museum Ho Yan Hor, Ipohworld @ Han Chin Pet Soo, Funtasy House Trick Art Museum and Little India,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mohd Syahrizal said that the event was an exchange trip for the Terengganu media members to Ipoh whereby the Perak media members had earlier visited Terengganu on February last year.

“It is an opportunity for the two states media members to learn more about one another culture and tourism products,” he said.

Suhaimi said that the Terengganu Media Sports & Welfare Club had organized tour activities for the 150 club members, as a get-away and to learn more about other state’s tourism destination.

Later, there was an exchange of souvenirs and gifts among the guests.
