SENTOSA ISLAND

SINGAPORE: Sentosa Island is a familiar place for me. It is the only popular resort island in Singapore – for its 'many' tourism product offers, here.

When I was working in Singapore in the 90s, the then Sentosa Island is much different from today's Sentosa.

SANDY BEACHES

Back then, there were limited attractions, showcasing the Merlion statue, Musical Fountain, Fort Siloso and the sandy beach.

Today's Sentosa Island is totally transformed into an island of a 'hundred' attractions plus an 'overwhelming' tourists attractions namely Fort Siloso, golf course, Canopy Flyer Ride, Butterfly Park & Insect Kingdom, Madame Tussauds Signapore, Wave House Sentosa (artificial barreling wave), Skyline Luge & Skyride, iFly Singapore, Kidzania SingaporeAJ Hackett Sentosa (Bungy Jump), Headrock VR (virtual reality theme park), Resorts World Casino, Universal Studios, Mega Adventure Park, hotels and sheltered beach.

COLORFUL MERLION

There is also a Malaysian Hawker centre, souvenir outlets and fast food restaurants for the tourists convenience.

Transportation include – bus, monorail trains and cable car.

The only attraction I will missed is the Merlion statue (closed) and will be removed to somewhere else, soon.

GET SUNNY @ SENTOSA ISLAND

Sentosa Island, was once used as a British military base and a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp. In 1972, the island was renamed Sentosa – plans of transforming her into a tourist destination.
