IPOH BEST HAWKER DISHES


IPOH: Chef Daniel Yee is now introducing two fabulous hawker dishes in Ipoh namely Kai See Hor Fun (Chicken Noodle Soup) and Lam Mee Soup.

Head on to – First Harbour Coffeeshop, No. 68-74, Jalan Ng Weng Hup, First Garden, 30100, Ipoh.

Business hours - from 7am to 1pm, daily.


CLOCKWISE - LAM MEE, KAI SEE HOR FUN AND KAI CHAP


The Ipoh Kai See Hor Fun dish, comprises of sweet savoury soup from boiling chicken and prawn heads.

It is served with smooth kway teow noodles, shredded chicken, prawns, chives and the prawn oil.

The dish goes well with chopped chilli padi dipped in soya sauce. It comes with two types – RM5.50 (small bowl) and RM6.00 (big bowl).

Meanwhile, the Lam Mee dish is supposed to signify a Nyonya's Birthday noodle for longevity.

The dish is made up of boiling pork ribs/chicken bones served with yellow noodles topped with shrimps, shredded meat, pink shredded omelet, shallot crisps and coriander leaves.

It is best eaten with a little bit of sambal belacan (optional) for patrons. There is only one size priced at RM6.

DRAG RACE AT MAPS

FIRST DRAG RACE

IPOH: Motor vehicle enthusiasts can now participate in the “Perak Drag Racing Jamboree 2019”, which will take place on October 26 and 27, held at Movie Animation Park Studios (MAPS), here.

The event was in line with Anti-Drug and Anti-Crime campaign and to promote drag racing as a healthy sports.

It will start from 9am to 3am (Oct 26) and 11 am to 3am (Oct 27).


PERAK DRAG RACING JAMBOREE 2019


The event was jointly organised by the State Government, MUSC Motorsports Club and the Perak Malay Business Welfare Association (PKUM).

It was supported by Ministry of Youth & Sports, Perak Royal Malaysia Police, Ipoh City Council, State Public Works Department, State Fire and Rescue Department, State Agriculture Department, State Information Department, Armada Perak, People's Volunteer Corp (RELA), Perak State Development Corporation (PKNP), MB Inc and MAPS.

The activities would include drag racing competition, Stunt Legends, exhibition, summon discount counter, lucky draw, F&B counter and performances.

MAPS chief executive officer Mohamed Shafeii Abdul Gaffoor said this was the first drag racing for both car and motorcycle in Malaysia, and hopefully the government will initiate 'Drag Strip' in Perak.

There will be 100 groups participating in the competition arriving from Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Sabah, Sarawak and Perak.

In addition, competitors have a chance to win RM70,000 total worth of cash prizes in various competition.

He added the drag racing could assist business people involving with automobile industry, to promote tourism and a platform to source for talent in the racing faculty.

TADIKA KINDERJOY'S 'WE LOVE MALAYSIA' CONCERT


IPOH: Some 200 preschoolers showcased their 'best' performance themed “We Love Malaysia” during its 23rd Graduation Concert 2019, organised by Tadika Kinderjoy, here.


LAUNCHING OF 'WE LOVE MALAYSIA' CONCERT


The event started off with the graduating students receiving their scroll, on stage.

It was followed with several performances entitled “Kerana Mu”, “Be Our Guests”, “Passage to India”, “Golden Harvest”, “We Love Malaysia” and “Kids on a Mission”.

There was also a special performance by children aged 3, namely “Glitter Shakers”, “Busy Rings” and “Little Ribbons”.

The finale was a choir entitled “Malay Song Medley”, performed by a group of children.


'BE OUR GUESTS' PERFORMANCE


KinderJoy principal Looi Lee Ying said that the theme selected “We Love Malaysia” was in line with this year's Merdeka Celebration, to teach children about unity and to instill patriotism in them.


PASSAGE TO INDIA


Meanwhile, State Private and Special Education chief Eni Zanifah Mohd Jaberi praised the kindergarten for gaining the Perak Education Department's recognition as a 'Model Kindergarten' for conducting high standard of education and the stimulating programmes in school.
