NATIONAL RECOVERY PLAN (Phase 1) IS HERE TO STAY!

 

MY SAY

The National Recovery Plan (NRP) Phase 1 (also known as total lockdown) will be extended from June 28 onwards.

The NRP Phase 1 will move to Phase 2 provided three indicators are fulfilled –

Covid-19 new cases below 4,000 per day, moderate demand on intensive care capacity and 10% vaccination in the country have been met.

The Movement Control Order (MCO 3) will no longer be applicable and is replaced by NRP.

Some people argued that there is an “indefinite” time frame for the total lockdown to expire. 

The explanation is vague – what if one day the new cases is below 4,000 and the next day is 5,000. New covid cases fluctuate every day. 

How are they going to decide after how many days of new cases below 4,000, should they move to Phase 2. 

What if, the new cases stay above 4,000 for next few months, are they going to continue Phase 1 until year end.

Another group argued on the issue of 10% vaccination rate – this is beyond control of the people because if the government does not speed up the vaccination process, how can we achieve the 10%?

Is NRP a better choice or should we go back to MCO, EMCO, CMCO, RMCO??

 I personally like the word MCO, it creates a deeper impression for me.

MCO is equivalent to lockdown!!

 

 

MBI & KL KEPONG REACHING OUT TO THE NEEDY

 

IPOH: The Ipoh City Council (MBI) and KL Kepong Berhad jointly organized a charity event under the MBI Caring programme to assist the less fortunate residents in Ipoh.

 

 

Datuk Bandar Datuk Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud and KL Kepong Bhd chief executive officer Tan Sri Lee Oi Hian gave away 237 food packages to three representatives from the Waller Court Flat, held at the MBI headquarters, here.

 

 

Also present were MBI councilor Clr Mohammad Iskandar Abdul Rahman and KLK (Plantation) administrative director Har Wai Ming.

 

 

Rumaizi said that the donation comes in timely to reduce burden of the residents living in the flat.

AMCAA REACHING OUT TO NEEDY STUDENTS OF AVE MARIA CONVENT

 

IPOH: The Ave Maria Convent Alumni Association Ipoh (AMCAA) has initiated an Education Fund Sponsorship Programme to assist the students-in-need who are currently studying at SMJK and SJK (C) Ave Maria Convent Ipoh to enable them to attend Tuition Classes or to purchase electronic devices or mobile data plan for online classes.

 

 

AMCAA president Moy Ooi Thye said that the objective of the education fund was to provide financial assistance to families who were affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Till date, AMCAA together with some generous AMC Alumni had pledged a total of RM30,000 for the above stated purposes.

“Some 38 deserving students-in-need had been identified through interview with the families concerned whereby some form of financial aid had been distributed to them on a monthly basis.

 

 

“AMCAA wishes to appeal to all the AMC Alumni to contribute either in cash or kind to this Education Fund.

“We hope that this message can reach as many Alumni as possible and with the collective effort of everyone, any amount of donation will be highly appreciated,” she said.
